 TAG QUESTIONS (Câu hỏi đuôi)
I. PHẦN LÍ THUYẾT:
Câu hỏi đuôi gồm có hai phần: câu nói (statement) và phần đuôi (tag)
Statement , tag ?
® Statement ® Tag question (câu hỏi đuôi) 
 S +V ( khẳng định) V ( phủ định) + S ? ( nghi vấn phủ định)
 S + V ( phủ định) V (khẳng định) + S ? (nghi vấn)
®VERBALS ( loại động từ) 
 Be( am/ is/ are/ was/ were) à lập lại 
 Modal verb (can/ could/ may/ will/ would à	lập lại 
Must/ ought to/ should 
 ordinary verb( động từ thường) à mượn trợ động từ (do/does/did)
 S + have/ has/ had + V3 / Ved haven’t / hasn’t/ hadn’t + S ?
 S + ought to .., 	 shouldn’t .?
œ S + has to/have to , doesn’t/ don’t .?
 I + think/ believe + S2 + V2 ., à lấy trợ động từ V2 làm câu hỏi đuôi
 She thinks à doesn’t she ?
 I wish , may I ?
 S= what, that, why..(mệnh đề danh từ), . V + it?
 must à needn’t + S ?
 S + mustn’t à must + S ?
 S + had better + V0 à hadn’t + S ?
 S + must have + V3 à haven’t + S ? 
II/ NOTE:
Ex: Peter helped you, didn’t he ? 
He isn’t here now , is he ?
You have been there for a long time , haven’t you ?
They can’t swim, can they?
What you have said is wrong , isn’t it? 
SMột số trường hợp 
Không dùng danh từ riêng( tên riêng ) trong câu hỏi đuôi, mà phải dùng đại từ nhân xưng thay thế
Ex: Mary is beautiful, isn’t she? 
 His parents are old , aren’t they ? 
 There is/ are ., isn’t / aren’t there ? 
III/ CÁC TRƯỜNG HỢP ĐẶC BIỆT:
1/ Nếu mệnh đề chính có các từ phủ định : , no one, nobody, no, none .., tag question ở khẳng định
Nobody/ no one + V (mang nghĩa phủ định) .., V ( khẳng định) They ?
Ex: No one went out , did they?
2/ Everyone, everybody, someone, somebody,neither of them + V ..,V they?
Ex: Everyone is at home, aren’t they? 
3/Everything, something, anything + V ..,V+it?
Ex: Everything is all right, isn’t it ?
4/ Nothing + V ., V(khẳng định) + it?
Ex: Nothing was sold, was it ?
5/ S Nếu chủ ngữ là thís, that thì chủ ngữ trong câu hỏi đuôi có thể là it , he , she
Ex That is a very interesting film, isn’t it ? 
That is your new boy friend , isn’t he ?
This is a very beautiful girl , isn’t she ? 
S Nếu chủ ngữ là these, those thì chủ ngữ trong câu hỏi đuôi là They 
Ex: these books are new , aren’t they ?
6/ Hình thức câu hỏi đuôi của I am , aren’t I ?
Ex: I am late , aren’t I ? (hoặc có thể là: I’m late, am I not )
7/ Hình thức của câu yêu cầu là : Will you ?
 ( Please) + V , will you ? 
(Câu mệnh lệnh): Don’t + ìnF ., will you ?
Ex: Come in , will you ? 
Don’t do that , will you ? 
Don’t speak , will you ? 
à Diễn tả lời mời (invitation ), tag question phải là “won’t you?” 
Ex: Take your seat , won’t you?
8/ Câu đề nghị dùng : shall we ? Let’s + V , Shall we ? 
Ex; Let’s go for a walk, shall we ? 
Let’s go out , shall we ? 
Let’s not study now, shall we ? 
9/ S+ ( Scarely/ Rarely/Hardly/ little/ Seldom / ever/ Never/No longer) +V ., V ( khẳng định)+ S ? 
Ex: Peter hardly goes to the party , does he ?
