- Get some vocabulary related to the topic of volunteer works.

- To gain more information about volunteer works.

2. Skills

- To promote Ss to develop their listening skill in listening familiarly an announcement on helping the needy.

Aims and objectives.
Knowledge.
Get some vocabulary related to the topic of volunteer works.
To gain more information about volunteer works.
Skills
To promote Ss to develop their listening skill in listening familiarly an announcement on helping the needy.
To help Ss develop the skill of working in pairs and groups.
Develop the listening skills for general information and specific details:
Attitude.
Students can see the volunteer works in different countries in the world and possible reflect on the volunteer works of their own city or country.
Timing: 45 minutes
Assumed knowledge and skills
Students have already learnt some lexical items related to volunteer works: community, charity, welcome, clothes, food and drink, money, organization ..
Anticipated problems and possible solutions
Ss can’t fulfil the task given in the textbook if there is no adaptation èTeacher provides more prompts/instructions to assist students to fulfil the requirements.
Teaching aids
Teacher: Projector, smart board, smart pen, chalk, textbook, lesson plan, some softwares (power point, violet, activIspire), candies (for the winners) and cassette.
Students: Textbooks, pen, pencil .

I. Warm up (3 minutes)
-Watch a video of volunteer works designed by the teacher.
Brainstormning the volunteer works.
Lead – in.
-Arouse sts’ interest and lead into the lesson. (the whole class)
Lead to the lesson.
Introduce the topic of listening: Help the needy! (the needy = needy people = poor people)
Play a video of volunteer works.
Ask sts the name and the topic of the song/ video:
+What is the name of the song?
(Mùa hè xanh)
+ What is it about?(volunteer works)
- Get sts to brainstorm to make a network of volunteer works.
- Feedback.
-Watch the video.
- Find out the topic of the video.
-Brainstorm
II. Pre – listening (12 mins – Hải)
Activate	sts’
background knowledge. Teach vocabularies.
Pronounce the words correctly.
Free practice with the words above to remember deeply.
Work in 2 groups to list voluntary works on the board in 3 mins.
Give more vocabularies by situation and similarity involve the ways people can help out in their community

Can you get any money for volunteer works ? (No, It means you do it non - profittly)

II. While – listening (20 mins - Liên)
Sts know what they have to listen.
Guess the answers. Check the answers.
More pay attention to what they will listen.
Guess the answers. Listen and do the task.
Correct the answers.

1. Task 1: Multiple choice.
Tell students that they are going to listen to the announcement by the director of Heart to Heart Charity.
Get sts to look at the pictures and guess the answers before listening in pairs.
T writes 3 sentences on the board and show 3 pictures for each sentence.
T plays the tape once, sts listen and do the task.
Call on some students to stick suitable pictures (the answers) on the sentences.
Have students listen to the announcement again and check the answers by asking sts to repeat the sentences they heard.

III.	Post	– listening (7 mins

Reinforce the vocabularies in the lesson.
Have students guess their answers before listening again.
Play the recording and let students tick true or false. (Possibly play the recording again)
Check students' answers and comments: students raise the red cards for the true and the yellow ones for the false. Correct the false by getting sts to speak out the true information (maybe key words).

Get into 2 groups. The leader of each group writes the words which the others in the group tell him/her in Vietnamese or similarity in 2 mins (the winner is the team with the most correct answers).
Slap the board (2 leaders).

Consolidation 2 minutes
Ask Ss to consolidate the main contents.
Give feedback.
Summarize the main points of the lesson.
