By the end of the lesson students will be able to know clearly how to choose a suitable job.

By the end of the lesson students will be able to know clearly how to choose a suitable job.

III. PROCEDURE
Activity 1: Discussion
a/ Aim: students can talk about the future life.	
b/ Content 
Work in pairs. Discuss the following questions. (p.84)
1. Do you think life will be better in the future? Why / Why not?
2. List three things that might happen in the future?
c/ Products: ss work in pairs
1. => Yes, because of many new advancements in science and technology, especially in medicine, man’s life will be better. Man no longer fear or feel anxious about incurable diseases, which were considered fatal ones, such as cancer, diabetes (bệnh đái đường), smallpox, 
2. => In the future, three things might happen, I think
First, man can travel into outer space: to the moon , and other planets in the universe. Next, all domestic chores are done by machine or by robots, and finally, offices will go electronic and people can do most of things with computers such as shopping, buying goods or tickets,

Activity 2: Scanning the passage 
a/ Aim: help students know some new words and phrases related to the topic.
b/ Content: 
Task 1. Find words or phrases in the passage which have the following meanings. (p.86)
People who always expect bad things to happen. 
People who always expect good things to happen. 
A period when there’s little economic activity and many people are poor or without jobs. 
The use of violent action in order to achieve political aims or to force a government to act. 
Be destroyed or removed completely.

Activity 3: Answer the questions
a/ Aim: help ss have skills to read the passage and answer the questions.
b/ Content: 
Task 2. Answer the following questions. (p.86)
1. What will happen in an economic depression?
2. Why, according to pessimist, will the security of the earth be threatened?
3. What will life be like in the future, according to optimists?
4. What are the most important factors that will bring about dramatic changes in different aspects of our lives?
c/ Products: Ss work in groups.
=> Many large corporations will be wiped out and millions of jobs will be lost.
=> The security of the earth will be threatened by terrorism as terrorist groups will become more powerful and more dangerous.
=> People will live in a much cleaner environment, breathing fresher air and eating healthier foods. They will also be better looked after by a more modern medical system. Domestic chores will no longer be a burden thanks to the inventions of labour-saving devices.
=> They are developments in micro-technology – computers and telecommunication.
d/ Procedures:
- T shows the questions through zoom by using PowerPoint or iBook program, and asks ss to work in groups. 
- Ss read the passage and answer the questions.
- T calls some ss to present their results.
- Checks Ss’ answer by inviting a representative from each group to give the answer. 
Activity 4: Discussion
a/ Aim: ss can talk about how technology will influence our life in the future.
b/ Content: 
Task 3. Complete the notes about how technology will influence our life in the future. (p.86)

Work: factories will be run by robots, office will go electronic, many people will work from home.
Travel: travel by space shuttle will be very fast, at 15,000 kph; cars could run on electricity or methane gas and will be fitted with computers.

- Ss work in groups.

a/ Aim: ss can talk about the advantages and disadvantages of robots.
b/ Content: 
Work in groups. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of robots.
c/ Product: Model
* Advantages:
- life will be easier and safer.
- we can save much labour from factory work to household chores.
- Dangerous work will be done by robots, so workers are prevented from deadly risks at work.
- Man have more leisure time to enjoy life, do more creative work or charity activities.
* Disadvantages:
- Many people will lose their jobs.
- People will get lazy because of much free time.
- the maintenance cost is high because of high and complicated technology.

2. Which factor is the most important one? Why?
3. What will we have been able to do about AIDS in ten years’ time?

1. => Eating more healthily, cutting down on things like butter, alcohol and cigarettes.
2. => The development in medical science. Because nobody dies from old age, just from diseases that affect people when they get older.
3. => In ten years’ time AIDS will also be brought under control / We’ll have been able to bring AIDS under control.
